Simple plugin that adds a reading time widget for Elementor / shortcode. Calculates estimated reading time from post content and displays it with or without an icon. The estimated time is displayed in minutes and seconds.
Installation
- Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/lava-reading-timedirectory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
- Use shortcode [reading_time] to show the estimated time for reading the post (in post loop, or single post).
- Or use the “Reading time” Elementor widget, while using Elementor.

Can I change the words pre minutes?

Sure, you can set words per minutes from 50 to 1000 (default 180).

Can I use custom icon?

Unfortunetally no. At the moment, you can only choose, if you want the icon, and style of icon (solid/regular).

Can I use the plugin without Elementor?

Yes, simply use the shortcode [reading_time] to display estimated time where you need.
