The plugin works as intended. Would love to see option to display number of characters
in post.

Plugin contains huge performance issue if the sites has more then +100 posts. On
line 68 of post-word-count.php there is a function that calls on init and load all
posts from the database and calculating the wordcount for each post. This is not
required and will possible “kill” any server preformace you want to have. After 
disabling the plugin number of Queries went down from 900 to 40…

Perfect, it does what it promises, shows the word count of each post in the post
panel.
